Police: Watertown man arrested after stabbing victim in neck area during bar fight

Watertown (WSYR-TV) - Watertown Police say a man has been arrested after he stabbed a person in the neck during a bar fight in the early morning hours on Thursday.

Police say they were called to the First Round bar on Factory Street in Watertown at about 2:10 a.m. and, upon arrival, found 47-year-old Kevin Smith with a laceration and puncture wound to the neck area.

Smith was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

Police say he is listed in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital.

After talking to witnesses, police say they located the suspect on Bronson Street and took him into custody.

Police determined that 25-year-old Kenneth Lance Jr. of Adams stabbed Smith in the neck area with a folding knife.

Lance has been charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, a Class B felony.

He was arraigned in Watertown City Court and taken to the Jefferson County Jail on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
