Remington lays off 122 workers: Congresswoman confirms

ILION, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Remington Arms in Ilion has laid off 122 workers.

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney’s office told NewsChannel 9 that the layoffs were due to market activity, a decrease in recent orders, and a high level of inventory in stock.

Employees are being notified in terms of shifts – so there’s no way of knowing which jobs are impacted at this point.

The facility in Herkimer County employed about 900 people before the layoffs.
