Report: Bills have hired Sean McDermott as head coach

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Buffalo Bills have a new head coach, according to ESPN.

The cable sports network’s reporter Mike Rodak Tweeted that the Bills had agreed to terms with Sean McDermott.

Earlier in the week, rumors swirled that Buffalo was “zeroing in” on the Panthers’ defensive coordinator.

During his six years with Carolina, four of McDermott’s defenses were top ten defenses and the 2015 squad was a big reason why Carolina went to the Super Bowl.

McDermott is replacing Rex Ryan – who spent two years in Orchard Park.

This is a breaking news alert – NewsChannel 9 and LocalSYR.com will have additional details as they become available.
