Reward offered in hunt for Rome homicide suspect

ROME, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A reward is being offered for help that might lead to the capture of a man wanted for a homicide in the city of Rome.

Rome Police are looking for 35-year-old Robert Coffin for his alleged role in the death of Thomas Shepherd, who was found at a home on the 400 block of Woodrow Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A $6,500 reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers, the U.S. Marshals service, and the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agency.

Rome Police said they’ve received several tips – and they’re pursuing each of them.

Shepherd was taken to a local hospital after police found him, but he died a short time later.

Detectives are asking anyone who may know where Coffin is tonight - to call 911.
