Report: Rick Pitino, Louisville AD fired

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WSYR-TV) - Rick Pitino is once again out of a job.

The legendary college basketball coach, along with athletic director Tom Jurich, were reportedly fired from their posts at Louisville on Wednesday morning, according to ESPN.

The cable sports news network reported that the pair met with Louisville’s Interim President George Postel on Wednesday morning.

They say Postel indicated a press conference would be held at 1 p.m.

On Tuesday, 10 men, including former Syracuse University basketball player Tony Bland, were charged in connection with an FBI fraud investigation.

Louisville’s president noted that their school was part of the investigation.

Pitino once served as an assistant at Syracuse University in the late 1970s.
