Rome Police trying to ID suspected purse snatcher

ROME, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Rome Police are trying to identify a suspect who allegedly stole a woman’s purse as she left a store at the Black River Shopping Center on Friday.

The suspect reportedly approached the woman in the 800 block of Black River Boulevard and pulled the purse away from her around 2:30 p.m.

The suspect was last seen running north away from the scene.

He was described as a light-skinned black male who was wearing black pants, a black hooded jacked, and a red scarf over his face.

The victim was not injured.
