Rosamond Gifford Zoo to celebrate its first baby bison

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Rosamond Gifford Zoo will celebrate the Fourth of July by introducing its first baby bison to the public tomorrow.

The baby girl was born to Sue and Harley on June 9 and is already on exhibit.

Visitors will be able to vote on her name during the “Red, White and Zoo! Baby Bison Bash” event from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The first 100 children will receive a free American flag, along with free patriotic face painting.

In addition, All-American treats will be served at the Jungle Café, and a baby bison prize raffle will be held.

At 2:30, the zoo will host a special bison keeper chat at the bison biofact station.

The event is free to members, and with the price of admission.
