Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Before the marching next weekend, there was running today in Syracuse.

The 9th Annual Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run started at 10 a.m. with a kids run, followed by an adult jog an hour later.

The four mile adult course helps neighbors gear up for St. Patrick's weekend, when the parade is held. This year's parade is scheduled for March 15th in Syracuse. Newschannel 9 is a proud Grand Marshall.

Syracuse police are asked drivers to avoid Coleridge Avenue, between Lowell and Avery Avenues, where runners lined up.

That section of Coleridge was be closed from 8 a.m. to noon.
