SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The best and the brightest in the Syracuse music scene were honored Friday night at the SAMMY Awards.
A sellout crowd gathered at the Palace Theatre in the city’s Eastwood neighborhood.
The Syracuse Area Music Awards committee received more than 100 submissions, which were whittled down to 60 nominations.
“Just to be recognized in a room full of our peers like this as something that really appeals to people. I mean, we had fun making it but the fact that it appeals to people even more is just there are no words to describe it,” said Shawn Tallet - whose band, Barroom Philosophers, won the Jam Band category.
Dave Frisina - who won the Lifetime Achievement Award - served as emcee at the event.
