Seneca, Cayuga county bridges among most in need of repair

AUBURN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Bridges in Seneca and Cayuga counties are tops among New York State’s most deficient bridges, according to a new report from the New York State Comptroller’s office.

While New York City led the state in the number of bridges needing repairs, Seneca (34.6 percent), Cayuga (27.6 percent), and Hamilton (23.8 percent) had the highest percentage of structurally deficient bridges.

The Comptroller’s office estimates that New York’s local governments would need roughly $27.4 billion in repairs.
