Sheriff's Office: 2 accused of striking victim in the face with a rock

ONONDAGA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Two men are facing felony charges after a victim was allegedly struck in the face with a rock during a dispute over an unleashed dog at Split Rock Quarry in the town of Onondaga.

The victim required surgery after the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office charged 22-year-old Dylan Fredette of Tully and 39-year-old Scott Sherwood of Syracuse: 

-          First-degree assault
-          Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
-          Fourth-degree conspiracy

The incident occurred on Oct. 1 and the Sheriff’s Office distributed surveillance images to help identify the suspects.

They were arraigned and then released on their own recognizance.
