VARICK, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - An 8-year-old who suffered serious injuries during a farm accident in the town of Varick died later at Upstate University Hospital, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene on Friday, July 21 around 1:40 p.m.
They say that the boy – named Wilmer Zimmerman – was caught between a John Deere utility vehicle and a hay wagon.
He was reportedly unresponsive when they arrived.
Zimmerman was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, where he died.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.
