Solvay Bank robbery suspect caught

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Police have arrested a man just a few hours after they say he robbed the Solvay Bank along the 1100 block of Milton Avenue.

The officer who arrived first on the scene relayed the suspect information to responding officers.

Michael Saxton was found two blocks from the bank with proceeds of the alleged robbery, according to police.

Saxton was charged with petit larceny and robbery.

The call went out around 11:26 a.m.

Police did not disclose the amount of money taken.

He was sent to the Justice Center with no bail.
