St. Joseph's health employees to start paying for parking: Your Stories

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Your Stories team has taken a few calls from St. Joseph’s Health employees at the North Syracuse campus, expressing concerns about paying to park in their lot.

Employees will have to pay $12  a month to park in paved lots and pay $36 a month for parking garages.

Prices to park were last raised in 2007.

Employees at the north medical campus says they shouldn't have to pay at all, being in a suburban community where spots are easy to come by.

NewsChannel 9 spoke with an employee who wished to remain anonymous. They found out about the change last week, just one week after finding out about a 2 percent raise.

These new changes will take effect Jan. 14 and will not affect patients and visitors, only employees.

Those who walk to work or take public transportation won't have to pay.
