An Oswego County couple are facing charges after State Police say they deprived two pitbulls of food and water.
Troopers found one male pitbull dead in a shed behind the couple's Town of Schroeppel home, tied to a pole on Aug. 30.
A female pitbull was found tied to a pole and was "severely malnourished."
Both dogs were removed from the home.
36-year-old Candice Carey and 33-year-old Robert Williams were charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance.
The two will re-appear in Schroeppel Town Court on Oct. 11.
