SUNY Oswego brings MBA program to SRC

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Another key piece of the local radar scene is celebrating a big milestone in its burgeoning relationship with SUNY Oswego.

21 SRC employees will be graduating in two weeks with MBA’s from the college and they tell me the benefits go both ways.

Well established as a leader in innovative radar technology, SRC was looking for an opportunity to allow its engineers to grow by empowering them with management and leadership skills.

"We're willing to put our money where our mouth is by paying 100 percent tuition, we're going to try and make it as easy as possible,” Jim Holland, executive VP of enterprise services.

"Our faculty really enjoyed coming out here and they really enjoyed interacting with the students.  They were able to discuss theory and the live application of that theory in real time,” said SUNY Oswego director of MBA programs, Irene Scruton.

To make it easiest for the students in the MBA program SUNY Oswego professors would come here to the SRC campus to teach their courses.

“We took the core of the MBA and delivered it here at SRC so they could apply the learning and the theory immediately,” Scruton said.

The same MBA you get on campus, with the same full-time tenured faculty from Oswego, all done here at SRC the past three years.

Oswego and SRC are already talking about the next group of MBA candidates.

SRC is also exploring other opportunities with the school, and Oswego is looking at taking this MBA program to other organizations.
