Syracuse man sentenced for luring teenage girl into a life of prostitution

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Syracuse man with dozens of arrests on his rap sheet is headed to prison for sexually abusing a teenage girl and then luring her into a life of prostitution.

William Watts – who was a NewsChannel 9 Fugitive of the Week in another case – was sentenced to 14 and one third to 19 years in prison after being convicted on an eight-count indictment that included:

- Third-degree promoting prostitution
- 3 counts of third-degree rape
- 2 counts of third-degree criminal sexual act
- 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child

Over the course of 20 years, Watts has been arrested more than 50 times.

Recently, he was featured on NewsChannel 9 for his alleged involvement in an assault.
