Syracuse Police make arrest in E. Kennedy St. homicide

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police have arrested a 23-year-old in connection with a recent homicide in the city.

On Tuesday, June 27, police found 22-year-old George Booker Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound in the 100 block of E. Kennedy Street.

Booker was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Following an investigation and reviewing evidence recovered at the scene, police have arrested 23-year-old Cyrell Haygood in connection with the homicide.

Haygood was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He has been sent to the Justice Center.
