SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Syracuse man is facing felony charges after he reportedly flew into a rage and stole a taxi driver’s cab after he refused to transport his family.
Police say Rendell Broome of West Colvin Street called for a taxi around 9:52 a.m. on Saturday.
When the driver told Broome he’d need a van instead, the 49-year-old man allegedly forcibly stole the car keys and loaded the vehicle with his family and their belongings.
Police caught up with Broome in 600 block of West Onondaga Street, and took him into custody.
Broome was charged with third-degree robbery, third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Broome was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he remains lodged.
