Morrisville (WSYR-TV) - One month after a deadly tornado swept through the Town of Smithfield killing four people, the community is still hard at work trying to help the families affected.

“You wouldn't expect this many people its just amazing,” said MaryAnn Allen, the mother of a tornado victim.

MaryAnn and the rest of the Allen family were overwhelmed by the number of people who came out for a benefit for them and all the families affected.

“You just don't realize how many people really get involved,” said MaryAnn. “It's just so good to see.”

The event was thrown by the first responders in Madison County who say presale tickets already exceeded expectations making them hopeful they'll reach their $100,000 goal.

If you’d like to help the families a fund has been set up.
