Tom Price out as Secretary of Health and Human Services

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSYR-TV) - President Donald Trump has accepted the resignation of former Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price, according to a statement from the White House.

Price offered his resignation from the position after it was discovered that he had repeatedly used private planes for government travel using taxpayers' money.

Trump has toyed with the idea of firing Price this week, saying he was "not happy" with Price's actions.

The President has designated Don Wright of Virginia to serve as Acting Secretary, effective 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 29.

Wright is currently serving as the Assistant Secretary for Health and Director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
