Troopers: Level 3 sex offender in Auburn tried to have sexual contact with a child

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A high level sex offender living in Auburn is back behind bars without bail after he allegedly tried to engage a young girl in sexual contact.

State Police arrested 52-year-old Jack O. Douglas on March 27 in Seneca Falls and charged him with attempted use of a child in a sexual performance, a class D felony, and first-degree attempted disseminating indecent material to minors, a class E felony.

Investigators say they caught Douglas before he could have sexual contact with the child.

He was arraigned in Town of Seneca Falls Court and taken to the Seneca County Jail without bail.

State Police say Douglas is already registered as a Level 3 sex offender.
