Troopers: Suspect preyed on child in Seneca Falls

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Penn Yan man was arrested in Seneca Falls on Tuesday after he allegedly tried to have sexual contact with a child.

State Police charged 23-year-old Jeremiah Tomion with first-degree attempted rape and first-degree attempted disseminating indecent material to minors – both felonies.

Police say they caught Tomion before he could meet the girl – who was under the age of 13.

He was arraigned in Town of Seneca Falls Court, and taken to the Seneca County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.
