Accounting student wins for second year in a row

A 23-year-old University of Akron student has defended his title of the nation's best grocery bagger.

Brady Long, an accounting student, won a $10,000 prize as champion of the National Grocers Association's Best Bagger competition, according to an Associated Press report.

It was the second year in a row that Long won the competition.

Long is an employee at a Buehler's Fresh Foods. He traveled to Las Vegas to compete against other baggers and was judged on speed, technique and other factors, The AP reported.

Long wants to use his prize money to buy a new vehicle to replace his current 1996 van, the AP story said.
