West Genesee teacher arrested for alleged inappropriate online conversation with a middle schooler

CAMILLUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A teacher at the West Genesee Central School District has been arrested after he was accused of having inappropriate conversations with a middle school student, according to a letter sent out by the school.

Superintendent Chris Brown said Michael Spath may have been involved in an inappropriate conversation with a middle schooler via social media.

Spath was placed on administrative leave from his duties.

The alleged incident was brought to Brown’s attention on Dec. 12.

Spath was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The school believes the incident happened with one student, but if anyone has any information that my help law enforcement in their investigation, call the Abused Persons Unit at 435-3092.
