(WSYR-TV Syracuse) A slow-moving cold front will move east through CNY Friday.  The front will interact with a northward moving surge of tropical moisture.  That will mean heavy rain throughout the day Friday for all of CNY.  Here's a breakdown.
  • Showers arrive after midnight Thursday night.
  • Steadier and heavier rain continues through the day Friday.
  • Rainfall amounts of 1-3" are likely over all of CNY by the time things wind down Friday night.  It looks like the rain will have ended by 11 pm Friday night.
  • Some poor drainage flooding is possible.  Do NOT drive through flooded areas.
I don't think there will be much, if any thunder Friday.  Just a steady, cold rain.

Temperatures will fall through the day.  60s in the morning, with temperatures in the 40s by 5 pm Friday.  Bring the jacket with you Friday, you're going to need it.
New information just in this morning is already cooling us into the 50s by sunrise Friday.

The weekend:
Not a bad weekend at all...just cooler.  There really shouldn't be much rain around; just a spotty shower or two.  There should be some sun.  Probably not much in the way of wind Saturday, perhaps a bit breezy Sunday.  It won't be in the 80s like we had during this week.  Highs will be in the upper 50s and low 60s, with overnight lows around 40 degrees.
