Cicero Chick-Fil-A construction delayed: Your Stories

CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Many viewers have called the Your Stories team asking what the status is of the future of the Chick-Fil-A on Route 11 in Cicero.

Those driving by say work hasn’t even started, despite the fact that construction was supposed to have started.

Based on the original timeline, construction should have started by now, but won't until later this summer or early fall— when the restaurant should have had its grand opening.

“The delay is due to Chick Fil A’s corporate. I got an education from them. They have a corporate office that actually does site selection, before they award the franchise to a franchisee,” said Mark Venesky, the town of Cicero supervisor.

Corporate picked a location before they picked an operator. Venesky says he's scheduled to meet with the likely owner next month, who plans to move his family from the south to Cicero.

"Chick-Fil-A is going to happen. Even though we don't see any construction at this moment, the site plan has been fully approved, and also all of the construction permits have been issued,” he said
