19th-ranked Syracuse women rout Niagara 109-60 for fourth straight win

Orange puts five players in double figures in impressive win

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - The 19th-ranked Syracuse University women's basketball team won its fourth game in a row Saturday, thrashing upstate rival Niagara 109-60 inside the Carrier Dome.

The Orange put five players in double figures, led by Brittney Sykes' 23 points.

The senior guard also added 13 rebounds and 8 assists.

Senior point guard Alexis Peterson added 13 points and 7 assists, while the senior duo of Briana and Bria Day each scored double digit points -- 19 for Briana, 12 for Bria.

Freshman Desiree Elmore rounded out the high scorers for SU, finishing with 15 points in 15 minutes off the bench.

Syracuse opened up the game on a 42-to-8 run and never looked back, as the Orange improved to 8-3 overall.

SU is off for the next week for final exams, before traveling down to Florida on December 20 for the Florida Sunshine Classic.

The Orange faces Old Dominion on December 20, then Texas A&M the following day.
