Boeheim's Army cruises in The Basketball Tournament opener, 99-66

The former Syracuse standouts advance to Round of 32

PHILADELPHIA (WSYR-TV) - Boeheim's Army opened up The Basketball Tournament in dominant fashion, routing Duboise Dream 99-66 in the first round of play at Philadelphia University.

The former Syracuse University standouts ran out to a 20-2 run in the early minutes of play and never looked back.

Former point guard John Gillon led Boeheim's Army with 26 points, while Jamesville-DeWitt alum Brandon Triched finished with a triple-double -- 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists.

In all, six different players scored in double-figures for Boeheim's Army.

The former SU stars made more than 51% of their shots from the field, and more than 40% from three-point range.

Boeheim's Army will next play on Sunday at 2:45pm against Gaelnation -- a team comprised mostly of Iona Gaels alumni. The game will be streamed online on and the WatchESPN app.
