Cuse falls to the Cavaliers on the road

CHARLOTTESVILLE, N.C. (WSYR-TV) - The losing streak now stands at three for the SU men's basketball team after falling to #3 Virginia 68-61 on the road in Charlottesville. 

Three players scored in double figures for the Orange, led by 18 points from Frank Howard. Oshae Brissett chipped in with 16 while Tyus Battle added 12 before fouling out late in the contest.  

Paschal Chuwku helped Syracuse win the rebounding battle. 

Chukwu grabbed 16 boards as the Orange beat UVA on the glass 41-30.  The Cavaliers though just proved to be the better team. 

Virginia also had three players in double figures led by Kyle Guy's 22 points.

Prior to the game, the Cavs had been holding their opponents to an average of 52.5 points per contest. 

Syracuse was able to trim a double-digit deficit down to five in the final minute, but the rally fell short. 

As a result, SU drops to 12-5 overall and is now 1-3 in ACC play. 

Next up, is a trip to #23 Florida State on Saturday.
