Top 40 recruit Darius Bazley commits to Syracuse

The 4-star forward is SU's first commit in 2018 class

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Highly regarded forward Darius Bazley has verbally committed to Syracuse.

Mike McAllister of Scout.com and CuseNation.com first reported the news.

Bazley, a 4-star forward from Cincinnati, de-committed from Ohio State in April.

He chose the Orange over offers from Louisville, Florida, Xavier, and Maryland, among others.

Bazley, 6'8 athletic swingman, is a top-40 recruit in his class.

He becomes SU's first commitment for the Class of 2018.

Syracuse will also have East Carolina transfer Elijah Hughes on the court in 2018-19.

Hughes transferred to SU in May, but must sit out the upcoming 2017-18 season. He will then have three years of eligibility remaining.
