SU’s Murray named ACC Women’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Syracuse University senior standout Alyssa Murray has been named the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse University senior standout Alyssa Murray has been named the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

She is one of a seven members of the Orange on the All-ACC Academic Team, which is the most by any school in the conference.

Murray finished her career with 362 points, which tie her for eighth on the NCAA’s all-time scoring list and rank second in SU history.

She is a two-time Tewaaraton Award finalist and three-time 1st-team All-American.

Murray, who was a Child and Family Studies major, finished second in the nation in scoring this year with 110 points.

She became the first SU player to record 100 or more points in a season three times.

Murray is only the second player in SU history to post 300 points, 200 goals and 100 assists in her career.
