Syracuse stuns #6 Florida State

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse Orange came in looking for a statement win and the finally got it, upsetting #6 Florida State 82-72.

Syracuse raced out to a 44-26 lead at the half, only to see Florida State storm back.

The Seminoles would trim the lead to two with under seven minutes to play on a Dwayne Bacon jumper.

Tyler Lydon answered with a put-back dunk and an Andrew White III three extended the lead back to seven.

A Dwayne Bacon three with under two minutes to play would make it a 72-70 game.

With just over a minute to play, Syracuse's John Gillon hit a driving lay-up sealing the upset win for the Orange.

Andrew White III poured in a game-high 24 points.  White III has now scored 51 points in his last two games.

Tyler Lydon added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks.

John Gillon chipped in a double-double with 21 points and 11 assists.

Florida State was led by Jonathan Isaac's 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Syracuse improves to 13-9 overall (5-4 in the ACC).

Next up for SU, a trip to Raleigh, NC to take on North Carolina State on Wednesday.
