White's career day leads Syracuse to rout of Georgia Tech

Andrew White III scores career-high 40 points vs. Yellow Jackets

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse University men's basketball team closes out the regular season in dominant fashion, routing Georgia Tech 90-61 on Senior Day.

Fifth-year grad transfer Andrew White III erupted for a career-high 40 points, including 8-of-9 from three-point range.

White's 40 points ties the all-time Carrier Dome record for points in a game by an SU player. Gene Waldron had 40 versus Iona in 1983.

SU wraps up the regular season with an 18-13 record, and 10-8 in ACC play. The win over Georgia Tech secures a first round bye for Syracuse in the ACC Tournament, and may be enough to earn SU an at-large bid the NCAA Tournament.

Following today's win, the Orange earns the 8-seed in the ACC Tournament, and will face 9th-seeded Miami on Wednesday, March 8th at 12:00pm down at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

SU beat the Hurricanes 70-55 back on January 4th inside the Dome.
