NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) - Former SU safety Shamarko Thomas is the third player from Syracuse to be selected in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Thomas was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 4th round of the draft with the 111th overall pick on Saturday.

He was chosen just one pick after former SU quarterback Ryan Nassib was drafted by the New York Giants.

Offensive lineman Justin Pugh will be Nassib's teammate in the NFL as he was selected by the Giants in the first round.

Thomas finished his career with the Orange ranked sixth in Syracuse history for tackles by a defensive back with 263.
