The cheapest, fastest, and easiest ways of getting to D.C. to see the Orange

Plenty of tickets are still available to see the Orange play in the Sweet Sixteen. But buying tickets is just half the battle. You still have to get down to Washington, D.C.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Plenty of tickets are still available to see the Orange play in the Sweet Sixteen.

As of Monday afternoon, StubHub alone has 450 tickets left starting at $190 for Thursday’s game. However, that's just half the tickets they had available in the morning, so they're definitely going fast.

But buying tickets is just half the battle. You still have to get down to Washington, D.C.

By Plane

Whether you want to go all-in and book a flight from Wednesday until Sunday, or you're afraid of jinxing our chances to the Elite Eight so you want to fly home Friday, prices are the same.

Flights start at $534 for nonstop flights from Syracuse to D.C. The trip takes about 2 hours.

By Bus

If you want to make it by bus on Thursday, schedules are tight.

You have to take an early Trailways bus that leaves before 8:30 a.m. There are some busses leaving between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

You'll take that but New York City for $32 and you'll have to switch in New York City to a Megabus and take that to D.C. for another $29.

It sounds like a good deal, but your travel time is estimated to be 9 1/2 hours so you need to leave early if you want to watch Syracuse and the early game which has a 7:15 tip-off.

By Train

It's a nine hour trip by Amtrak and it'll cost you $308 for the roundtrip.

By Car

Syracuse to Washington, D.C. is 376 miles.

With gas prices here averaging around $3.80, if you get 30 miles to the gallon you'll be using 12.5 gallons of gas, adding up to almost $50 dollars to get down there, for a total of $100 in gas for the roundtrip.

Google maps says it's a 6 hour road trip if you drive straight there.
