SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A 20 point lead in the second half is usually enough to feel comfortable a win is certain, but Tully would need to make big plays late to pull out a 49-48 win over Cooperstown in the Class C boys final inside the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
The Black Knights led 38-18 with under three minutes to play in the third quarter. Then Cooperstown answered with a 24-4 run to tie the game at 42 with just over four minutes to play.
A late putback from Dante Cuttino pushed Tully back ahead 49-48 with 40 seconds to play and the Black Knights held on from there.
Tully will face Unadilla Valley out of Section IV on Saturday, March 10th, at 3pm inside the SRC Arena in the NYPHSAA Regionals.
