Colgate falls in NCAA Regionals; ends season 20-14-5

Cincinnati, OH (WSYR-TV) – Colgate University fell to Ferris State 1-0 in the NCAA Tournament Regionals. With the loss, the Raiders finish their season 20-14-5.

Ferris State scored midway through the first period and was able to hold off Colgate in the final two frames.

The Raiders fired 21 shots in the final two periods.

Goalie Charlie Finn had 26 saves to keep Colgate in the game, but the Bulldogs’ lone goal from Gerald Mayhew proved to be the decision maker.

The power play goal was assisted by Andy Huff and Cory Kane.

Junior goalie C.J. Motte had 35 saves in the shutout as Ferris State improved to 29-10-3 on the season.

The Raiders expect to welcome back the core of its team for the 2014-15 season with only two players, Eric Mihalik and Mike McCann, graduating this spring.
