Brooklyn (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse University point guard Tyler Ennis has been selected 18th overall by the Phoenix Suns.

While the Phoenix Suns have a logjam at point guard, according to Paul Coro - beat writer for the Suns, they are expected to keep Ennis.

The 6'2" freshman from Brampton, Ontario averaged 35.7 minutes, 12.7 points, 5.6 assists, 2.1 steals per game for the Orange last season.

His older brother Dylan plays guard for Villanova.

In the hearts of SU fans, Ennis will most likely be remembered for his buzzer-beating three-pointer against Pittsburgh on Feb 12.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden called Ennis to congratulate him on the shot that made ESPN's Top Plays.
