‘Frozen Dome Classic’ hockey game tickets now on sale

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The game is still months away, but tickets are already going fast for the “Frozen Dome Classic” according to the Syracuse Crunch.

Tickets went on sale Tuesday for the first time to the general public for the hockey game at the Carrie Dome in November.

Ticket prices are $50, $30, and $20.

Orders for tickets may be placed one of five ways:
1. Online at ticketmaster.com
2. In person at the Syracuse Crunch Office (800 S. State Street, Syracuse, NY 13204)
3. In person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B)
4. At any Ticketmaster Outlet
5. Over the phone at (315) 473-4444

The Crunch is certainly an organization familiar with big events. Take the outdoor game at the Fairgrounds a few years ago, and the run that fell just short of a championship two years ago.

Now, the Crunch will leave their familiar home ice of the War Memorial for the grandeur of the Carrier Dome.

Exclusive pre-sales have gone well, and just a few hours after public sales began Tuesday they sold fast.

The team says they've had individuals buying tickets, groups, corporations, and organizations.

Seats in the 100 and 200 levels at the Dome are going fast.

Todd Cross, Syracuse Crunch Senior Director of Ticket Sales, said, “The 300 level seats, while they may seem like 300 level, they may be among the best seats in the house for the fact they have a perfect birds eye view of the rink. So even though you may be in the Section 309 Row L, it’s not going to be a bad seat."

Ticket sales are actually going even a little bit faster than the Crunch anticipated and its not just from people here locally buying them up.

They say they already know of a couple from California coming all this way just for the game.

“They are two retired people and they travel to a lot of events throughout the year, a lot of major league sporting events, NHL events, NFL events. They got wind of this event and they said ‘oh, this sounds like a great idea let's get a couple of tickets and fly out for the game,’” Cross said.

He says it's sent a jolt of energy into the Crunch staff, and judging by ticket sales they're not the only ones thinking hockey in the summer.

The weekend will also feature a game between SUNY Oswego and Utica College, a benefit game, and possibly an SU Women's basketball game.
