Police: NewsChannel 9 viewer tips leads to arrest of man suspected of finding wallet and going on $1,400 spending spree

Camillus Police say thanks to numerous NewsChannel 9 viewer tips, they have arrested a man suspected of finding a wallet and using the credit cards within it to go on a $1,400 shopping spree.

Camillus (WSYR-TV) - Camillus Police say thanks to numerous NewsChannel 9 viewer tips,  they have arrested a man suspected of finding a wallet and using the credit cards within it to go on a $1,400 shopping spree. 

30-year-old Travis St. Louis has been charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Identity Theft.

Police say St. Louis was arrested Monday afternoon in an apartment in the 400 block of Highland Avenue in Syracuse.

St. Louis is being held on $10,000 cash / $15,000 bond.

Camillus (WSYR-TV) – Camillus Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who found a wallet – and then proceeded to use credit cards at locations throughout the Syracuse area.

Police say the man found the wallet on Dec. 15 – possibly at a gas station – and then went shopping.

They say the person used the victim’s credit card to buy $600 worth of video games and an Xbox.

According to police, the person then went to a mall and bought another $500 worth of video games before heading to Tipperary Hill for beer and then another locale in the city of Syracuse to buy food.

In all, they believe he racked up $1,400 in charges.
