Get rid of old tires for free in Oswego County on Saturday

In Oswego County, steps are being taken to battle the West Nile and EEE viruses. Saturday, August 24 is "Tire Amnesty Day."
Oswego (WSYR-TV) - In Oswego County, steps are being taken to battle the West Nile and EEE viruses.

State Senator Patty Ritchie has declared Saturday, August 24 "Tire Amnesty Day."

Old tires are often a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

On Saturday, up to four tires may be dropped off for free. A $5 fee will apply for each additional tire.

In addition, electronic waste, such as TVs, computers and small appliances will also be accepted at no charge.

You can drop off items from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the following locations:
