Neighbors fight, three injured with a knife and pipe in Syracuse

A 14-year old is among three people who were injured during a large fight between neighbors late Saturday night.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A large fight between neighbors in Syracuse escalated on Saturday night when a knife and pipe were used as weapons. A 14-year old is among three people who were injured.

Police were called to the 200 block of Loomis Avenue just after 10:00 p.m.

An investigation revealed that 27-year old Maurice Gilbert was stabbed in the chest and hit with a pipe that cut his scalp.

37-year old Aubrey Smith, of Syracuse, was also stabbed in the chest.

The 14-year old has a cut on his arm.

All three of the people injured were taken to Upstate University Hospital and are expected to recover.

Witnesses helped officers identify the suspect, 22-year old Shakeem Adams of Syracuse.

Adams is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
