OCRRA taking Christmas Trees for recycling into mulch through Jan. 11

Now through Jan. 11 you can drop off your Christmas Tree to OCRRA to be recycled into mulch.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Now through Jan. 11 you can drop off your Christmas Tree to OCRRA to be recycled into mulch.

While many cities and towns offer drop off or pick up for trees, you can also use the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency’s Amboy and Jamesville compost sites.

You must remove all decorations, lights, tinsel, and tree stands.

In the spring, the much made form the trees will be available at the compost sites.

From Dec. 30 through Jan. 11, 2014, the trees can be dropped off at either site without charge during the following hours:

Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. - noon

Sunday: Closed
