Police: Oneida man charged with assault for making child stand in scalding water

An Oneida man is facing felony charges for allegedly making a 3-year-old child stand in scalding hot water.
Oneida (WSYR-TV) – An Oneida man is facing felony charges for allegedly making a 3-year-old child stand in scalding hot water.

Oneida Police say the child suffered burns on his feet and had to be taken to the Upstate Burn Clinic for treatment.

They charged Anthony Montgomery, 50, of Lenox Avenue, with assault in the second degree, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned in Oneida City Court and taken to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.

He is scheduled to return to court on March 21.
