Solvay pair indicted in alleged murder conspiracy

A Solvay woman and a man she was allegedly involved with have been indicted in connection with the attempted murder of her husband.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Solvay woman and a man she was allegedly involved with have been indicted in connection with the attempted murder of her husband.

Investigators say John Conway shot the victim, 43-year-old Michael LaPoint, and then stabbed him 42 times.

Police believe 36-year-old Virginia LaPoint conspired with Conway in the alleged attempt on her husband's wife.

LaPoint survived the encounter on William Street.

John Conway was indicted by an Onondaga County grand jury on charges including:
  • Second-degree attempted murder
  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Second-degree conspiracy
  • Fourth-degree conspiracy
Virginia LaPoint was indicted for:
  • Second-degree attempted murder
  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Second-degree conspiracy
  • Fourth-degree conspiracy
