Syracuse police need information after man was shot in neck

Police are investigating a shooting, victim shot in neck and expected to survive.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) A Syracuse man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Syracuse police say the shooting happened around 2:40 AM in the 100 block of Onondaga Avenue.

The 38-year-old victim told police he was walking on the street when he heard a gunshot. The bullet hit him in the neck. 

Police say the victim was unable to provide any suspect information.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle. He is currently in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive.

Syracuse Police Sgt. Tom Connellan says officers who responded to the call were unable to locate a crime scene.
