A 6-year-old girl who was struck by an SUV on Burnet Avenue in the city of Syracuse has been released from the hospital, but police are still looking for the vehicle.

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A 6-year-old girl who was struck by an SUV on Burnet Avenue in the city of Syracuse has been released from the hospital, but police are still looking for the vehicle.

On Monday, police released new images of the vehicle they’re looking for after the alleged hit-and-run around 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 15.

The child was initially taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicle was last seen heading west on Burnet Avenue.

The vehicle that struck the child is described as a white 4-door SUV-type vehicle and police say the vehicle appears to be a Saturn Vue with white New York State Statue of Liberty plates.

Police believe a woman was driving the SUV at the time of the alleged hit and run.

The vehicle may have minor damage to the front grill or driver side headlight area, according to police.
