Geneseo (WSYR-TV) – An emergency dispatcher help delivered a baby on a remote Western New York roadway on Tuesday.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said dispatcher Matthew Snyder fielded a call from a woman around 6:16 a.m. indicating that her daughter was about to give birth on Route 98 in the Wyoming County town of Gainsville.

The Sheriff’s Office said that Snyder remained in “constant contact” with the caller, Cynthia May.

They credited Snyder with giving the women medical instructions until emergency personnel could arrive at the location.

Less than a minute after May called 911, her granddaughter was born.

They say the mother and daughter are in fine condition.
