Governor Cuomo visits Syracuse for statewide coat donation drive

The governor stopped by the Southwest Community Center in Syracuse around 2 p.m. as part of his state tour.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -Governor Andrew Cuomo made a stop in Syracuse Saturday to promote the statewide holiday coat and toy drive.

State employees and lawmakers donated thousands of coats in response to the NY Cares donations shortage. Saturday afternoon Cuomo was at the Southwest Community Center to thank local leaders for their donations which will make Christmas a little brighter for children in need.

"What we were talking about today was remembering the essence of the holidays and the spirit of the holidays and taking time to give back and share," said Cuomo.

People in need of coats and toys can pick them up at the Southwest Community Center at 401 South Avenue this Monday starting at 3 p.m.
